Live interpreting for phone calls
You speak. They hear it in their language a moment later, and their answer comes back in yours. The person on the other end just picks up an ordinary phone.
How it works
The one you speak and the one they speak. Uzbek and English, Arabic and French, Hindi and German: any pair.
Enter their number and call. When they answer, they hear a short note, in their language, that an interpreter is on the line.
Speak naturally. Each of you hears the other in your own language a moment later, with captions of both as you go.
Under the hood
Speko Translate runs on the Speko Router, which keeps several live speech-translation engines ready behind each call. We start on the best one for your languages, and if it falters, the next one takes over in seconds.
Uzbek and English, Arabic and French, Hindi and German. Any pair, in either direction.
Translation starts while the speaker is still talking, so the other side waits seconds, not sentences.
See what they said and how it was translated, line by line, as the call goes.
If a translation engine fails, another picks up the call in seconds. You never hear the switch as silence.
Made for the calls that matter
The clinic that won't take email. The landlord who only answers the phone. The office with a hold line and no translator. Speko Translate turns each of them into a conversation you can actually have.

Pricing
$0.15 a minute for calls to the US and Canada, $0.40 a minute to other countries, with a 1-minute minimum on answered international calls. Add credit with a card and spend it as you talk. The clock starts when you dial, ringing included, and runs by the second.
Questions
No. They answer an ordinary call on a mobile or a landline. All of the interpreting happens on our side.
Yes. When they pick up, they hear a short note in their own language that the call is interpreted by AI. Conversations go better when both sides know.
Speko Translate starts translating while the speaker is still talking, and the translation usually lands a couple of seconds behind them. Short pauses help, just as they would with a human interpreter.
Numbers in the United States and Canada at $0.15 a minute, and most other countries at $0.40 a minute, with a 1-minute minimum once answered. The app shows the price for a number before you call. Satellite and premium-rate numbers are not available.
Speko Translate keeps backup translation engines ready on every call. If one stops working, another takes over within seconds and the call carries on.
If you want them to be. With recording on, each call is saved with its transcript, and the other person hears at the start, in their language, that the call is recorded. Turn it off any time in Settings.
You add credit in advance. Calls cost $0.15 a minute in the US and Canada and $0.40 a minute to other countries (1-minute minimum once answered), billed by the second from the moment you dial, ringing included. If your credit is about to run out, Speko Translate warns you a minute before the call ends.
If you can. Otherwise your microphone may pick up the translated voice from your speakers.
